Job Duties:
Responsible for all aspects of database and engineering administration for production and development database environments, which support 42+ million users and tens of thousands of databases to meet and exceed 99.99% uptime goals. Create, engineer, tune, secure, and maintain SQL server, MongoDB, DynamoDB, and MySQL and Postgres Aurora database. Implement architecture, configuration, replication, backup and management of high-performance, high-availability database instances in multiple data centers and the cloud. Develop and implement database policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, reporting, and service provision. Train internal and external team members on database-related technologies. Support weekend change controls and scheduled maintenance for installing, configuring and upgrading (Hotfix and Service Packs) SQL Server 2016 for various internal and client-facing environment. Refine and automate recurring operational database tasks while overseeing access permissions and privileges and on-call rotation on a recurring basis. Collaborate with NOC, SRE, Infrastructure and Applications teams on efforts to improve database performance, stability, and availability.
Job Requirements:
U.S. or foreign Masters or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, including coursework in Very Large Database Design and Management, Cryptography and Network Security; and 2 years experience as Sr. Database Administrator, or Database Administrator, including experience with SQL Server and data encryption.
