Job Duties:
Review and analyze all aspects of projects to estimate the resources needed, that includes analyzing all construction documents and design intent reports from clients to engineer bidding strategy; reviewing the specifications of each project to ensure that they meet all environmental, safety and other legal requirements; submitting comprehensive RFIs to General Contractors to confirm bidding strategy; generate accurate material takeoffs based on construction documents provided; requesting, analyzing, and negotiating bids from vendors; analyze past completed project reports to best estimate all labor needs; and generating detailed and thorough budgets for each individual project, including all material costs and labor hours needed for full project delivery, from design & engineering phase to completion of installation . Manage engineering, design and analyses for various façade systems on different technical aspects, including structural - loads determination (wind, seismic, snow etc.), modeling and response analysis (deflection, stress etc.) using highly skilled finite element software; thermal - optimizing heat transfers using different parameters (U-Values, SHGC etc.); and acoustic - focusing on STC and OITC façade requirements. Create project-specific proposals that detail the scopes and costs of each project, which includes drafting clear and precise list of all materials included in bid; outputting scope documents to help client clearly identify limits of scopes bid; generating preliminary schedules including long lead time items; identifying and clarifying all items excluded from proposal to avoid misunderstandings with clients; creating optimized payment schedule of values (SOVs); and reviewing and redlining complete contract package with company’s lawyer after project award . Consult with developers, architects and general contractors on their project needs, including design and engineering, budget, schedule, logistics, and constructability. Utilization of software and online computer tools that include Bluebeam, Autodesk Assemble, THERM, WINDOW 7.7, Microsoft Sharepoint, Procore, and Building Connected.
Job Requirements:
U.S. or foreign Master’s or equivalent degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field, with coursework in Advanced Structural Analysis, Advanced Dynamics, Probability & Statistics – Engineering, and Quake Hazard Mitigation.
