JOB DUTIES:
Create a PR plan using culturally and linguistically appropriate approach to promote the organization to the community and reach out to potential members, civic leaders, and funders, in order to inform them of the organization’s impactful work and opportunities to support its campaigns and services. Write, develop and coordinate content in publications and campaign materials including, but not limited to, press releases, brochure publication, video production, social media, newsletters and internet/intranet web maintenance, ensuring that all press and strategic documents are consistent and reflect the organization’s mission and vision. Participate in short and long-range public relations planning activities to help organization achieve its fundraising goals and objectives. Develop and strengthen business relationships with media outlets and publications and work with them to timely publish promotional campaigns and other media communications to promote the organization. Maintain and update database for media contacts. Organize and maintain a master calendar of all public relations and media events. Document activities, events, conferences, and speaking engagements sponsored, hosted and/or attended by the organization. Requires domestic travel to unanticipated locations for PR events or meetings up to 10% of the time.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Two (2) years of public relations, advertising, marketing or related experience. This position also requires education/experience in: (a) collaborating with others in conceptualization of creative executions, advertising/marketing campaigns, and/or specialized events; (b) developing strategic communication materials and campaigns utilizing digital and social media; (c) planning and implementing PR and advertising strategies; and (d) organizing media-related events. This position requires domestic travel to unanticipated locations for PR events or meetings up to 10 % of the time.
