Job Duties:
Lead the design of the company’s delivery vehicles. Understand, define, and drive system-level requirements and trade-offs. Contribute significantly to the HW architecture decision making process, including: component and interface selections, performance analysis and trade-offs, and feasibility studies. Develop new sub-assemblies, including 3D and 2D CAD, tolerance analysis and design for manufacturability (DFM). Lead benchtop and vehicle-level prototype assembly and verification. Work with Quality, Test, Manufacturing, and Operations teams on factory, functional, and reliability test needs and plans. Assess, root-cause, and resolve relevant mechanical issues encountered by the operating fleet.
Job Requirements:
U.S. or foreign Master of Engineering or equivalent degree in Advanced Manufacturing and Design, Manufacturing Process and Automation, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; plus two (2) years experience in the job offered or as a Senior Mechanical Engineer or a related position, with experience in crafting detailed 3D CAD models, overseeing the management of mechanical components and assemblies through advanced CAD/PLM tools like Onshape, Solidworks, and Arena, and leveraging simulation, analysis, and testing to refine and perfect user-facing mechanical subsystems.
