Position: Urban Designer
Full-Time
Job Duties:
Responsible for professional urban design, including developing pre-architectural concepts in the form of urban design framework plans. Interpret and apply applicable state, county, and local codes, ordinances, and regulations, and analyze the impact of codes and ordinances on designs. Assist in the development of comprehensive plans and land development proposals. Conduct extensive research in specific or general project areas. Write and present formal and technical reports, working papers, and correspondence. Identify community problems, issues, and opportunities in particular neighborhoods that could be mitigated through better community planning. Develop long range plans for communities with common developmental issues. Develop strategies to promote economic and community development or efficient land use consistent with community goals. Recommend priorities, schedules, and possible funding sources to implement plans. Write a variety of reports and design guideline documents for development controls.
Requirements:
U.S. or foreign Master’s or equivalent degree in Urban Design, Architecture, City Planning, Urban Management, or a related field, with coursework in Fundamentals of Urban Design, Site Planning, and Contemporary Urbanism.
